Greenstar Produce Philippines Inc. was established in 2007, as a group company of Watari Co., Ltd. (Japan) for fresh Okra production and exports to Japan.
We produce safe and quality fresh Okra and export it to Japan from October to June when there is very little domestic Okra production in Japan due to its climatic conditions.
Our Mission
Our mission is to consistently supply Japanese market with safe and quality fresh Okra which meets the needs of Japanese consumers.
We implement the latest Food Safety and Quality Assurance Systems of Global Standards to meet the high standards of Japanese market.
For that purpose, we have built a state-of-the-art processing facility in Lapaz, Tarlac where our Okra production is centered around Another mission of ours is to pursue “Sustainable Agriculture” in Philippines. For that, we constantly work hard at soil cultivation, improvement of crop cultivation techniques and environmentally friendly agricultural practices. And we always strive for Win-Win relationship with all people involved in our Okra business such as farmers, workers or suppliers.
Our Commitment
We have a hands-on management style. Therefore, we have located our headquarters in the processing plant in the Okra production area, Lapaz, Tarlac rather than Metro Manila. Our management team including a Japanese executive, Mitsuru Obuchi is daily engaged in the management of Okra business and operations on site.
We are also very keen to provide our staff and farmers with educational opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills necessary for successful agricultural practices, which we believe will create brilliant future for Philippine agriculture and the people.
